Good article, Timothy. Chrome OS will change computers, but not in the way people expect. It will be a lot more like how Chrome has changed browsers.

While it isn’t readily apparent, Chrome has a tremendous impact on browsers not through its adoption rate but through how it’s forced other browsers to adapt. To name a few, it ignited a huge speed war, and it’s changed the way stability is viewed. (Multiple processes for a browser tabs was left field when it came out. Now, much more normal.)

So, here’s three predictions on the way Chrome OS will change computers:
1) Separate kernel and user file systems.
2) Painless Reinstalls (both of the OS and applications)
3) Cloud based printing

I do NOT want to make the switch, but I'm afraid that if this thing catches on, I'll be forced to do it. If everybody does it, then my classic Windows OS can become incompatible with what the rest of the world will be using...
